White Tie

Is this me? If the invitation says "white tie," you need a tailcoat, white waistcoat, wing-collar shirt, and white bow tie. If you don't know what white tie means, the invitation probably doesn't mean it. The outfit: a black tailcoat + matching trousers with a satin stripe + a white marcella waistcoat + a wing-collar dress shirt with studs + a white bow tie + white gloves (traditional) + patent leather shoes. This is the most formal dress code in existence. Everything is specified. In your pocket: nothing. White tie has no improvisation allowed. Springus will tell you to hire a stylist if you're here -- this is not a DIY moment.
